Summary[edit]

Description Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling, commander of U.S. Army Europe, speaks in a ceremony at the new Gen. John Shalikashvili Mission Command Center in Wiesbaden, Germany, June 14. The event was one of several ceremonies, which also included the naming of the Wiesbaden Army Airfield as Clay Kaserne and a ribbon cutting for the newly constructed Newman Village Housing Area. The day's events marked the Army birthday and capped USAREUR Strong Week, a seven-day salute to USAREUR and the Army. (Photo by George P. Harris)
