Summary[edit]

Description The equipment used in the collection of the bee’s produce is various but at the same time simple and most are traditional. An important thing to keep in mind when working with bees is your own safety. The bees are usually harmless insects but if they feel that their ‘home’ or hive is under threat they become aggressive and might even sting their presumed attacker. When they sting their attacker the bee leaves parts of its abdomen and as a result they die in the process. One might think that this is a futile act on the part of the bee but in reality they are defending what is precious for their hive to survive. So the best way for the beekeeper is to cover up completely after having narcotized the bees. - MALTA
