Summary[edit]

Description
English: This global mosaic of Mercury, consisting of 87 MDIS Narrow-angle Camera images, shows features of the planet not seen during the Mariner 10 flybys of the 1970s. These were taken during the January 14, 2008, flyby of Mercury by the MESSENGER spacecraft, and taken at a distance of between 17,484 and 20,790 km (10,864 and 12,918 mi) from the planet. The approximate resolution of this mosaic is 550 m/pixel.
