English: (LA3-March 10) HAIRCUT FOR RESCUED RUSSIAN--Soviet Army Private Phillip Poplavski gets an American-style haircut last Sunday aboard the U.S.S. Kearsarge after Poplavski and three Russian companions were rescued from their 50-foot landing craft which had been drifting on the Pacific for 49 days. The barber is Thomas V. Tamoria of the U.S. Navy. His home town is Imperial Beach, Calif. The rescued Russians are being brought to the United States on the Kearsarge.
