Summary[edit]

Description

This is my second attempt at capturing the Whirlpool galaxy (M51). Considering that the seeing was not great, the wind was blowing hard and my guiding was all over the place, I'm happy I managed to salvage about 50 light frames to create this image. It is definitely an improvement over my last attempt, captured from the light polluted suburbs of Milan, in Italy. I will certainly go back to this subject some day as I think it is one of the nicest galaxies to be imaged with a backyard setup.

Celestron 5SE on AVX mount. 50x60s OSC shots on ZWO ASI 294MC PRO.
