Description
English: Farewell of the US Army 30th Division ("Old Hickory") at the town hall in Maastricht, Netherlands. The Old Hickory Division were on 13 and 14 September 1944 the liberators of Maastricht from Nazi German occupation. From left to right: Major General Hobbs (commander of the Old Hickory Division), Mr. L.R. Schreinemacher (alderman of Maastricht), Mr. W. Baron Michiels van Kessenich (mayor of Maastricht), Colonel Walter Morris Johnson (commander of the 117th Regiment), Mr. P.M.J.L.
