Description
English: Italy Italy, Marina Militare. The crest of the oceanographic ship Magnaghi (A 5303) represent the Admiral Giovan Battista Magnaghi decorated for military valor in the 1860-61 campaign. He studied the organization and functioning of the hydrographical offices in Europe in order to organize and direct the new born Istituto Idrografico della Marina in 1872. The ship’s motto is “Nauta pro nautis”.
