| Description |
Español: Las vacunas de ADN están compuestas por un pequeño fragmento circular de ADN, denominado plásmido - que contiene genes que codifican proteínas de un patógeno. Cuando la vacuna se inyecta en el huésped, la maquinaria interna de las células huésped "lee" el ADN y lo convierte en proteínas del patógeno. Al reconocer que las proteínas son extrañas, las células las muestran en su superficie para alertar al sistema inmunitario del organismo, tanto a los linfocitos T auxiliares, que estimulan la producción de anticuerpos, como a los linfocitos T asesinos, que eliminan por completo las células infectadas. |
