English: Manchester Airport & Concorde A view of Manchester Airport from under the Starboard wing of Concorde.
The green panels you can see under the fuselage of Concorde are to deflect the sounds of engines being tested at the repair hangars of the airport, they deflect noise upwards and away from any area where people could be harmed by the noise. The Airport control tower can be seen in the background, the photo has been taken facing towards Manchester city some 8 miles in the distance. |
