Description
Français : Interprétation des cartes publiées dans Terrence Haverluk (1997) The Changing Geography of U.S. Hispanics,1850-1990, Journal of Geography, 96:3, 134-145, DOI: 10.1080/00221349708978775. Destinée à donner une idée d'ensemble du sujet. Les cartes d'origines sont issues de la compilation de plusieurs autres ouvrages et le découpage par comté tend à biaiser l'apparence du résultat. Par ailleurs, ces cartes ne tiennent pas compte des éventuels degrés d'américanisation des personnes ainsi décrites. Enfin, le concept d'"hispanique" que l'on peut appliquer aux sources du début du XX° siècle n'est pas exactement celui comptabilisé par le service fédéral du recensement des États-Unis aujourd'hui.
