Summary[edit]

Description
English: Map with several proposals for railway lines in Portugal, made by a british company in 1845. However, the lines were never built due to a civil war in the following years, and the construction of the portugueses railways was only restarted in 1853. Although the new lines were built using different projects, some of them ended up having part of their course similar to the 1845 proposal, incluind the Alentejo, Oeste, Norte and Leste Railways, and the former Reguengos Branch. This image was scanned and published on the website of Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal.
