I Il dipinto, del quale non si conosce l'autore, rappresenta Maria Antonia Ferdinanda di Borbone Spagna (1729-1785) moglie di Vittorio Amedeo III di Savoia. La regina è ritratta seduta, con un abito impreziosito da pizzi e perle, mentre con la mano destra mostra un medaglione ovale (con l'effigie del consorte) posto accanto alla corona regale. La presenza degli attributi regali - oltre che l'età avanzata del soggetto - induce a datare l'opera dopo il 1773, data di ascesa al trono del consorte, nell'ultimo quarto del XVIII secolo. Come riferiscono gli inventari, molto probabilmente il dipinto e la cornice dal 1881 ai giorni d'oggi non subirono spostamenti all'interno della residenza.
