Description
Français : Un évêque, derrière lequel se tiennent des prêtres, tient les mains de la Vierge et de saint Joseph qui saisit dans son autre main un bâton fleuri. Un groupe de femme se tient à gauche tandis qu'un groupe de prétendants se tient à droite avec eux aussi un bâton à la main. Deux autres prétendants se tiennent à gauche et à droite du couple, ce dernier cassant son bâton de rage. En arrière plan, se dresse un arc de triomphe antique à trois arches. Cette miniature illustrait l'Office de la Vierge pour l'Avent.

Object history
Français : Ancien livre d'heures commandé par Étienne Chevalier, trésorier du roi Charles VII. Démembré et les miniatures découpées au début du XVIIIe siècle puis montées sur une planchette de bois par un menuisier encadreur parisien vers 1790. Propriété de Georg Brentano puis acquis auprès de son fils par Henri d'Orléans, duc d'Aumale en 1891. Donné à l'Institut de France.
Exhibition history
Français : Présenté dans le Santuario du musée depuis 1897, interdit de sortie du château de Chantilly en raison des conditions du don du duc d'Aumale.
