Description
  • English: JUDr. František Slavíček (* 1890 - 1942) was the director of the General Sickness Insurance Company in Prague during the Protectorate. He provided the necessary documents to the members of the resistance. He provided false documents to a number of resistance fighters and some paratroopers who were preparing the assassination of the deputy Reich Protector Reinhard Heydrich. Slavíček was a “supplier” of blank work books (so-called “Arbeitsbuch”) intended primarily for people moving illegally. In addition, he distributed "food stamps" for these resistance fighters, and mainly he supplied the food itself: meat, chickens, hens, and flour which he purchased from the rural peasants and butchers outside Prague.
  • English: On July 3, 1942, the Gestapo arrested JUDr. František Slavíček (in his apartment). On the same day his wife Marie Slavíčková, his son Otakar Slavíček (22 years old) and his daughter Ludmila Slavíčková (17 years old) were arrested too. The whole Slavíček's family was executed on 24 October 1942 in Mauthausen.
