Summary

[edit]
Description
Čeština: Marie Loudová, rozená Ornestová (* 30. října 1915 České Budějovice – 24. října 1942, Koncentrační tábor Mauthausen) byla manželkou kostelníka pravoslavného chrámu svatého Cyrila a Metoděje v Praze Karla Loudy (* 3. května 1904, Plzeň – 24. října 1942, Koncentrační tábor Mauthausen) a spolu obývali chrámový služební byt v pražské Resslově ulici číslo 9.
English: Marie Loudová, née Ornestová (* 30 October 1915 České Budějovice - 24 October 1942, Mauthausen Concentration Camp) was the wife of Karel Loudová (* 3 May 1904, Plzeň - 24 October 1942, Mauthausen Concentration Camp), the churchwarden of the Orthodox Church of St. Cyril and Methodius in Prague, and together they lived in the church's service apartment in Prague's Resslova Street number 9. She was Orthodox and took care of the household (she was a housewife). She was arrested by the Gestapo on 22 June 1942, interrogated by Ing. Kurt Friedrich Oberhauser, who had already been appointed by R. Heydrich in 1934 to deal with church affairs in the Reich. (This man was notorious for physically abusing detainees, including the arrested Bishop Gorazd.) Mr. and Mrs. Loud were taken to the Prague Gestapo detention prison in the Small Fortress of Terezin in the autumn of 1942, then sentenced to death in absentia in late September 1942, and finally deported to the Mauthausen concentration camp, where they were executed by a shot to the back of the head in a sniper's corner during a mock medical examination on October 24, 1942. (Marie Louda was shot at 11:22, her husband Karel Louda at 13:52). Their son Václav Louda (born 1939) was (like other children of resistance fighters and paratroopers' supporters) interned in the Prague chateau Na Jenerálka, later transferred to the internment camp in Svatobořice and Plana nad Lužnicí, where he lived to the end of World War II.
