Deutsch: Brief Martin Luthers an Kurfürst Johann betr. Herzog Georg, Juli 1531; mit dem "Frieden und Vertrag / newlich zu Grim" ist der "Grimmaische Machtspruch" vom 17. Juli 1531 gemeint, eine Vereinbarung zwischen Kurfürst Johann und Herzog Georg, siehe Sächsische Münztrennung. Gnad und Fried. Durchleuchtigster hochgeborner Fürst / gnedigster Herr / Es hat mein lieber Herr und Freund / Doctor Brück / Cantzler in E[uer] K[ur]F[ürstlichen] G[naden] namen an mir gesonnen / das ich mich hinfurt des scharffen Schreibens / sonderlich / was Hertzog Georgen betreffen möcht / enthalten wolt / so fern es je müglich sein wolt / meines Gewissens und der Lere halben / damit der Friede und vertrag / newlich zu Grim / durch Gottes gnaden bescheret / nicht zurrüttet oder verhindert werde. Nu ists wol war / das Hertzog George merckliche Knoten und Klumpen bey mir am Rocken hat. Aber auff das sie sehen / das ich auch lust zu Frieden habe / und meine böse Bücher nicht aus Fürwitz pflege zu schreiben / So wil ich solchs alles faren lassen / und geschenckt haben / so fern Hertzog George auch hinfurt mich zu frieden lasse / und keine newe Unlust anrichte / Auch mit dem vorbehalt / wo andere Papisten mit mir nicht frieden halten wolten / das ich frey sein müge dieselbigen zu rüren / Denn damit wil ich Hertzog Georgen nicht meinen / allein das er mirs nicht dahin deute.
