Description
English: ბუნების ძეგლი წარმოადგენს მდინარე აბაშის მიერ აბდათის კირქვული ქანებით აგებულ ანტიკლინში, კანიონისებურად გაჭრილ ხეობას. კანიონის სიგრძე 2400 მ-ია, ჩაჭრის სიღრმე 20-30 მ, ხოლო სიგანე 5-10 მ.

კანიონში ორ ადგილას არის შენახული კირქვის ბუნებრივი ხიდები, რაც იმის მანიშნებელია, რომ აქ ოდესღაც კარსტული მღვიმე ჩამოიშალა. გარდა ამისა, კანიონის შუა წელში წარმოიშობა 12-15 მ სიმაღლის ვარდნის მცირე ჩანჩქერები. ერთი მონაკვეთი გამოირჩევა განსაკუთრებული სილამაზით. ეს არის ოფუცხოლე, რომელიც ცნობილია “დადიანების საბანაოს” სახელით. აქ ჩასასვლეად ბილიკი კირქვის დიდი კვადრებისგან აშენებული კიბეს ჩაუყვება. გადმოცემის თანახმად, სწორედ ამ კიბით დადიოდნენ გიორგი ჭყონდიდელი და დავით აღმაშენებელი.
