Summary

[edit]
Description Two McDonnell Douglas F-4B Phantom II fighters of fighter squadron VF-111 Sundowners (foreground) and VF-51 Screaming Eagles drop four Mk 82 (500 lb/227 kg) bombs each in 1971/72. Both aircraft werd deployed aboard the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea (CVA-43) during a deployment to Vietnam in 1971/72. The F-4Bs are also armed with AIM-9D Sidewinder missiles. The relatively small weapons load was typical for Coral Sea due to the limited catapult capacity.
