Description

A member of the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry and her van, during World War I. This photograph unfortunately has no further information about the situation or the lady pictured. It would be interesting to know what she felt about her decision to join the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry, just at this moment. She appears to be very busy, caring for her van and has been interrupted by the photographer.

The First Aid Nursing Yeomanry was established in 1907 by Lord Kitchener to help provide communication and transport links between front line operations and larger behind the line resources. During the World War I the Corp was awarded 45 medals of honour.
