Summary[edit]

Description
English: This image shows the core-collapse supernova SN2023ixf with its host galaxy Messier 101 in the constellation Ursa Major (UMa) one day after its discovery. This image has been taken with a 20-inch reflector at the OST observatory in Potsdam (Germany) in the night of the 20.05.2023. This image is made from 477 individual 30 seconds sub-exposures in the clear filter band. The supernova is highlighted with an indicator cross.
