This is a photo of the trifid nebula, taken using a telescope with a monochrome camera and broadband (RGB) and narrowband (Ha and Oiii) filters, then combined to get a color photo.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Trifid Nebula or Messier 20 is a gas cloud in the constellation Sagittarius. This nebula is quite good when observed in Indonesia, because the highest point of its daily motion is close to the zenith for people in Indonesia. This image was taken using a Ritchey-Chretien reflecting telescope in Institut Teknologi Sumatera at 19 & 20 September 2023, the presence of a support on the secondary mirror causes diffraction in the star captured by the camera (X-shaped). This image was taken using a telescope with a monochrome camera and broadband (RGB) and narrowband (Ha and Oiii) filters, then combined to get a color photo. The red color indicates hydrogen emission at the Hydrogen Alpha wavelength. The blue color is Oxygen emission, and there are also molecular clouds that reflect the light of the hot young foreground stars in blue. Total exposure time is about 5 hours of data.
