| Description |
Cottbus, 28 August 1990. Unfortunately the helicopters at Cottbus weren't active during my second visit. This is a Mi-9, the airborne command post version of the Hip. Recognizable by the extra antennas under the boom and fuselage and the darkened cabin windows. There were four of them at Cottbus, operated by Hubschrauberstaffel der Führung und Aufklärung 3 (HSFA-3), which means something like helicopter unit for command and reconnaissance. |
