Taken on March 2, 1909 during Spring Training in Hot Springs, Arkansas. In 1908, McGreevy had promised a diamond ring to the Red Sox player with the most stolen bases that year. Amby McConnell was the winner with 38 steals for Boston in 1908. McGreevy Collection #166 is printed from this negative, enlarged and cropped to the group. 8" x 10" glass-plate negative. |
