Summary[edit]

Description
English: Micrograph of hemorrhagic mucosal disruption of the appendix. The white blood cells are mononuclear cells, rather than neutrophils seen in acute appendicitis. Overall, this disruption may be artificial damage, and is only a weak sign of appendicitis.
