English: Middle Level Outfall sluice. 1877 THIS SLUICE WAS OPENED BY EDWARD FELLOWES ESQ MP (CHAIRMAN OF THE MIDDLE LEVEL COMMISSIONERS ) ON THE 28TH DAY OF NOVEMBER 1877
Sir John Hawkshaw, Engineer William WEBSTER Contractor. Robert Dawbarn Junr ,clerk to the commissioners. William Webster was responsible for the underground parts of Abbey Mills pumping station in Stratford, East London. William Webster was also contractor for the famous Crossness Engines in South East London. Edward Fellowes 1809-1887 was MP for Huntingdonshire for over 40 years between 1837 and 1880. in 1881, Robert Dawbarn, [d. 1915] a widowed solicitor then aged 56 was living at Eastwood House, March, subseuqently occupied by March Grammar school, later Neale Wade Community College and demolished to facilitate expansion of the site in 2010 ,hence the historical record of the fine circa 1840 villa. www.cambstimes.co.uk/news/temporary-classrooms-in-place-a...
