Description
English: Photo of wooden outdoor stairs in the "Viking village" surrounding the Gildehallen, a reconstruction of a large Viking Age feast/banquet/party hall inspired by medieval Scandinavian architecture, archaeological finds, crafts and design from the time period. The Viking hall was built in 2013 as part of the Midgard Vikingsenter, a Viking Age visitor and educational centre near the Borre burial mounds by the Oslo Fjord in Horten, Norway.

Norsk bokmål: Tretrapp ved palisaden (forskansningsgjerdet) i «vikinglandsbyen» rundt «Gildehallen», en 13 meter høy, rekonstruert festhall (festsal) fra yngre jernalder (vikingtida), basert på håndverk, byggeskikk og dekor fra arkeologiske funn, tidlige langhus, stolpebygg, stavkirker og annet. Hallbygningen stod ferdig i 2013 og ligger på et innhegna leirområde ved Midgard vikingsenter, Vestfoldmuseenes publikums- og undervisningssenter på Borre i Horten kommune, like ved Borrehaugene ved Oslofjorden.
