In der Mitte das württembergische Herzogwappen mit den drei Hirschstangen, der Markgröninger Reichssturmfahne, den Fischen von Mömpelgard und den Wecken von Teck. Die Inschrift lautet: 

ANO DOMINI 1589 IAR                       Im Jahre 1589
DEN ACHTEN IULII DAS IST WAR              am achten Juli, das ist wahr 
WARD VO GRUND ANGEFANGE DI RATHUS         wurde der Grundstein gelegt für das Rathaus 
IN GOTTES NAM ZU BAUEN AUFF               in Gottes Namen aufzubauen
AN STAT EINS ALTEN GANTZ BAULOS           an Stelle eines alten ganz baufälligen 
SO LENGER NIT BESTAND ON SORGEN GROS      das nicht länger bestehen konnte ohne große Sorgen
