| Description |
English: Moelfre Harbour - a timeless scene This photo could have been taken any time in the last fifty years. This is what life used to be before the car became king. The photo was taken not at some ungodly hour but at noon on fine sunny April day. Moelfre harbour has always been a low tech place with boats pushed up the shingle beach free of the tide. Before WWII, as in Nefyn SH3040, commercial inshore fishing of herring (penwaig) was an important part of the local economy. The herring now come no more. |
