| Description |
Deutsch: Das Grab des „Herrn von Morken“ war einer der bedeutenden Funde, den die 1955/56 in Morken durchgeführten Grabungen des Rheinischen Landes Museums Bonn zu Tage förderten. Unter den Fundstellen en eines aufgedeckten fränkischen Gräberfeld es befand sich ein Fürstengrab des 6. Jahrhunderts. Es barg der Helm eines Adeligen, der wohl die markanteste und am besten erhaltene Grabbeigabe sein dürfte. Der geborgene Helm ist aus Eisen und vergoldetem Bronzeblech gefertigt. Er hat eine Höhe von 18 cm, sein größter Durchmesser erreicht 22,5 cm. |
