Description
English:

typed document, black text on white paper.

Gen. Felix H. Robertson Sole Survivor of the Fighting’ Generals of the Confederacy Formerly Chief of Staff to Gen. Joe Wheeler Confederate Army of Tennessee Waco, Texas Dwyer Building, Brenham, Washington County, Tex. Sept. 11, 1934. Secretary of State, Penn. My dear Sir; - I desire information about the Gettysburg Battle. My late husband whose name appears at the top of this stationary, worked the years of 1912 and 1913 for your state for the Peace Celebration given from July the 2nd to July the 4th 1913 as the Fiftieth anniversary of Battle of Gettysburg. He greatly enjoyed that word and recalled it always with the greatest pleasure, during the remainder of his life. Three generations of Robertsons have stood on that historic ground, his father General Jerome B. Robertson served under General John B. Hood during the battle, I believe a military marker designates the spot where General Robertson stood. Later Jerome B. Robertson, grandson of General Jerome B. Robertson, and the youngest son General Felix H. Robertson, trained as a tanker before sailing to France. I would like detailed information as to the Robertson military marker, who placed it there, and an accurate description of the Robertson marker. Please inform me, if there are any requirements or restrictions regarding the placing of any markers or statuary on this battlefield. Has the state of Texas or any of her citizens or any citizen of any other state placed and marker or statuary to that brave band of Texans who fought heroically there? Please do this additional courtesy for me and send me any literature on the battle also request monument markers, markers or bronzes to send me their advertisements. I greatly appreciate the courtesy of your reply, And extending you my warm good wishes, I am Most sincerely yours, Mrs. Felix H. Robertson.
