Mr. Kitteridge [sic] A. Wing Superintentent [sic] Gettysburg National Military Park Gettysburg, Penna. Dear Mr. Wing: Mrs. Quentin Gregory, President General, UDC, has asked me to serve as chairman of the dedication services which we plan to have on June 3, 1965. Will you please advise me if this date is satisfactory with you as we will soon make our plans. We will probably have a noon time program as a number of our members will arrive that morning. I know that the Gettysburg Hotel has been closed and I would appreciate it very much if you can give me any information about another place which might be able to take care of us. If there is a restaurant which could serve several hundred people will you send me the name and address of the person to contact. Would it be better for us to make arrangements through the Chamber of Commerce or through your office? I do not like to bother you with these matters but if you can give me the proper ones to contact it would be very helpful. Also, do you happen to know if any of the school bands would be interested in taking part in the program. If so I would also like to have the names of the people to whom I should write. We hope to have a very good speaker and a number of notables present. Also we hope that many of our members will be there. We will probably have a bus from Phila. and Miss Franklin has written that the New York chapters may also come by bus. I think twelve noon would be as early as the program could be scheduled with a luncheon afterward. We will allow time for a tour of the Battlefield afterward as many will be very interested in this. I will be deeply grateful to you for this information. Sincerely, Maynelle S. Smith Mrs. Robert Hamilton Smith
