The loggia ist situated at the "Odeonsplatz", a public piazza in the central district "Maxvorstadt" in Munich. It was built in 1841 to 1844 by Friedrich von G?rtner on behalf of King Ludwig I, following the example of the Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence, and is now one of the most visited sights of the Bavarian metropolis.
