Description
Deutsch: Steinbruch im Oberen Muschelkalk südlich von Vellberg-Eschenau. Der Abbau geht auf den Oberen Muschelkalk, dem – an den signifikanten schwarzen Streifen kenntlich – Lettenkeuper aufliegt. Diese Schicht bricht unterhalb des blattlosen Baumes in der oberen Mitte des Bildes längs einer nach links hin fallenden Linie ab, es folgt auffällig brauner Gipskeuper. Die linke (nordwestliche) Scholle liegt also tiefer. Es handelt sich um die sogenannte Vellberger Störung.
