A-6 Intruder Aircraft Model, Northrop Grumman 2001 Plastic NHHC-2001-91-8 Headquarters Artifact Collection: Naval History and Heritage Command This is a scale model of an A-6 Intruder; a twin engine, mid-wing all-weather attack aircraft. The A-6 was a precursor to several other aircraft used by the military. The A-6 saw its first flight in 1960 and was developed by Northrop Grumman; formerly Grumman Aerospace Corp. It is still in use by the Navy and Marines, but is being replaced by the F/A-18 Hornet. This model was recovered from the Pentagon following the attack.
