Summary[edit]

Description

NH 92278: Albatros (French Destroyer, 1930). In port circa April 1937 -- April 1939. Note the Spanish Civil War identification stripes painted on the shield of her Number Four 138mm gun.

In the foreground a Vice Amiral d'Escadre is leaving a motor launch, followed by another officer. The Admiral's four-star flag is flying at the boat's bow. The original print came from the Office of Naval Intelligence. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
