Description
English: Photo of a "Commemoration Day of Fallen Soldiers" event in Oslo on March 15th 1942, , remembering killed Norwegian volunteers in the German Waffen-SS during World War 2. Retouched, cropped page from NS årbok 1942, an organizational yearbook of Nasjonal Samling (NS), Quisling's Fascist party in Norway 1933 – 1945 and collaborationist organization during Nazi Germany's occupation of Norway in the Second World War.
Norsk bokmål: Foto fra Universitetets Aula i Oslo 15. mars 1942 under en minnhøytidelighet over falne «frontkjempere», norske frivillige i tysk Waffen-SS-tjeneste under andre verdenskrig: 15. mars «De falnes dag» til minne om dem som er falt i kampen mot bolsjevismen, feiret første gang av Nasjonal Samling i 1942.» Scenen er dekorert blant annet med SS-runene, Hirdens solkorsmerke og svarte flagg, og en stor sentralt plassert «dødsrune». Arrangør er Nasjonal Samling (NS), Quislings nasjonalistiske fascistparti i Norge 1933–1945. Partiets ideologi og symbolbruk var inspirert av det tyske nazistpartiet før og under andre verdenskrig.

Beskåret, retusjert (renset) versjon av side 14 i NS årbok 1942, «utgitt av propagandaledelsen» med Willy Klevenberg som redaktør og Blix forlag og trykt hos Mariendals boktrykkeri, Gjøvik 1943. Fotografen er ikke navngitt. Ifølge Nasjonalbiblioteket og norsk lov om opphavsrett er det tillatt å bruke innholdet i boka fritt: «Du kan kopiere, endre, spre, vise og fremføre dette verket, selv for kommersielle formål, uten å spørre om tillatelse.»
