Description

O navio Lobo Marinho, da Porto Santo Line, está em utilização desde Junho de 2003. Veio substituir outro navio, com o mesmo nome, que demorava cerca de uma hora mais a fazer a ligação marítima entre a Madeira e Porto Santo. O actual navio, demora cerca de duas horas a percorrer a distância entre as duas ilhas.

O actual ferry, construído nos Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo é o primeiro navio de passageiros feito em Portugal nos últimos anos. Pode-se dizer que se trata de um pequeno paquete de luxo, que teve um custo de cerca de 35 milhões de euros, permitindo ligar a Madeira a Porto Santo em cerca de duas horas, em condições de extrema comodidade.

Este navio permite transportar cerca de 1.150 passageiros e 160 veículos por viagem, tendo 112 metros de comprimento e 20 de largura.
