Description

Le centre culturel de Belém a été édifié par les architectes Vittorio Gregotti et Manuel Salgado. Il comprend des commerces, des salles de spectacle et le musée d'art moderne et contemporain Colecçao Berardo.

Au centre : Nectar de Joana Vasconcelos, 2006.

Il multiplie les collections en particulier en art moderne et contemporain. Il possède des oeuvres majeures de Picasso, Miro, Dali, Bacon, Warhol,..et a ouvert un musée de 10.000 m2 dans le centre culturel de Belém.

Le français J.F. Chougnet en a été le directeur en janvier 2007. Il est aujourd'hui le directeur du MuCEM à Marseille. <a href="http://www.berardocollection.com/" rel="noreferrer nofollow">www.berardocollection.com/</a>

En 2012, une grande exposition des œuvres de l'artiste portugaise Joana Vasconcelos a eu lieu à Versailles dans les appartements royaux et dans les jardins. J.F. Chougnet en a été le commissaire général.
