| Description |
English: New growth in a dried-out puddle, New Forest The green shoots in the foreground are growing from the bed of a dried-up puddle on the heath, not far south of the B3078 road. Soon a pony will find this grass and scoff it. When you are on the heath at this time of year it becomes clear why the ponies spend so much time near the road (and hence danger) than they do on the wide open heaths. The raised verges of the road are bright green with grass, which makes a much tastier meal than the brown pickings of the gravelly heath. |
