Summary[edit]

Description
English: Attack on a part of the Swedish fleet on the sea of Salma (Svensksund, or Ruotsinsalmi) on August 14, 1790 [should this be 1789?], where various cannons and a considerable number of Swedish boats burned to the Russian archipelago fleet, and the former had to pull back.
  • It seems like the dates have been mixed up; there was a small action at Kotkansaari on 6 August, 1790, between the two fleets, but seemingly nothing else of great magnitude. There was a battle at Svensksund on 24 August 1789, however, where the Swedes suffered many vessels and men lost.
Deutsch: Angrif eines Theiles der Königl: schwedischen Flotte auf der See Salma am 14 Aug. 1790, wo Verschiedene Kanonen schaluppen und eine beträchtliche Anzahl schwedischer Böte von der K: russischen Scherrenflotte Verbrand, und da durch sich erstere zurükzuziechen bemüssiget wurde.
