Summary[edit]

Description
English: North Camp station. North Camp station is on the former South Eastern Railway line from Redhill to Reading via Guildford. It has had a variety of names: North Camp, Aldershot from 1858, renamed Aldershot Camp in June 1863, then Aldershot, North Camp in May 1879, Aldershot North Camp and South Farnborough in June 1910, Aldershot North in July 1923, and then North Camp from March 1924. It was built with the needs of the army in mind, with broad platforms, originally four of them but only two remain. The adjacent level crossing survives despite the construction a few years back of a flyover to carry the road over the line. Only the left-hand pavilion is now in railway use. The other (and the centre of the building) is now occupied by a dentist. The Old Ford pub (far right) used to double up as the railway refreshment rooms.
