Summary[edit]
DescriptionNorth Pier, Donaghadee harbour - geograph.org.uk - 1407523.jpg |
English: North Pier, Donaghadee harbour. The North Pier, with the lighthouse on the end of the South Pier 1407524 visible to the right.
The North Pier sits as an island at high tide and is only accessible by foot at low tide. 430 feet in length it was built, like the rest of the harbour, in the 1820s, and is designed to provide a barrier from the harsh north westerly seas, particularly in winter. See 7211174 for some related images of the area. |
