Summary

[edit]
Description
English: c/n 06013.

Built 1952 as the last Comet 1 before production changed to the Comet 1A. Originally allocated G-ALZA for BOAC but instead became CF-CUM with Canadian Pacific Air Lines and was delivered in August 1953. Grounded in 1954, it was reregistered as G-ANAV and brought to Farnborough where it carried out unpressurised test flights as part of the investigation into the then unexplained crashes of G-ALYP and G-ALYY. It was broken up in 1955 with only the nose being kept. Part of the Science Museum, it was donated Salisbury Hall in May 2016 and is being converted into an interactive simulator. Seen in the Amy Johnson hangar, the museums storage and restoration building. de Havilland Aircraft Museum, Salisbury Hall, London Colney, UK.
