| Description |
English: Old waterwheel, Velindre The old mill here at Velindre (mill place) near St Nicholas is a ruin now but the wheel still stands over the stream that powered it from the millpond above. Local people would have brought their corn to be ground here and there is access from the roads that run on both sides of the valley.
Additional information provided by Ruth Jowett: The old mill was rescued some years ago by the father of the current owner. As I understand the mill is actually in full working order but unused. I watched corn being ground there only a few years ago. |
