English: Opening pages from the Qur'an copied by Sheikh Hamdullah. 39.2 x 26.5 cm, this manuscript is one of the greatest early Ottoman Qur’ans. The complete opening chapter of the Qur’an appears on this elaborate double frontispiece in naskh script. The colophon in Ottoman Turkish on folio 278r identifies the scribe as Shaykh Hamdallah ibn Mustafa. Istanbul, c. 1500. Aga Khan Museum 00262
