| Description |
English: Orange paint in logging projects marks trees that WON'T be cut. A single slash at chest height indicates a general "leave tree" -- tree within the project boundary that WON'T be cut. The single slash at chest height is accompanied by a small orange mark at the base of the tree so contract inspectors can ensure "leave trees" weren't harvested.
The Orion Timber Sale is within the Flagstaff Watershed Protection Project, and thinning/logging treatments for this area were approved under a previous National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis. The Orion Timber Sale will be offered for bid in the fall of 2013.
