English: Overflow from the catchwater channel, Rishworth. The bridge over the overflow weir and channel gives the name of the former water undertaking. Lowland places such as Wakefield had to obtain their water from a great distance (although in this case not as far away as the reservoirs for, eg, Bradford or Birmingham). |
