Summary[edit]

Description
English: Positive PCR tests performed per calendar week in Germany for the detection of COVID-19. Germany performs relatively few PCR tests per 100,000 inhabitants compared to other countries in Europe. Testing capacity is considered relatively low, and critics criticize the lack of expansion, which could have been implemented almost 2 years ago. Test capacity per week is expected to be about 2.5 million PCR tests per week, with PCR test shortages around mid-January.

Info Risklayer points out that individuals may perform multiple testing and thus the numbers do not reflect the number of individuals tested. Subsequent reports are also possible. Late registrations will be made no later than Thursday for the last calendar week.
