| Description |
English: The Palace Market, one of the largest retail meat businesses in Seattle at the time, was located at Second Avenue and Yesler Streets, and later in the L. C. Smith Building (Smith Tower). This business card bears the names of Palace Market co-owners S.C. Roll and C. Schoening. Silas C. Roll was first connected with the meat business in Idaho Springs, Colorado, before relocating to Seattle in 1891. He opened the Palace Market in partnership with Charles Schoening, with whom he had been in business in Colorado. Seattle city directory entries for the Palace Market end in 1919.
