English: Johann Stridbeck (1665-1714): Skizzenbuch (1691).
Worth mentioning is the fact that the garden layout (barely) visible on this sketchy drawing corresponds roughly to the first extant plan of the garden (available on wiki), thus making false the opinion commonly encountered in the literature that the shape of the garden as painted by Mock in 1709 is actually the original one. The first extant plan probably represents a discarded variant of the design actually carried out. |
